Galboda is important to travelers mainly because of Galboda waterfall. And also it is said that Galboda has the water with the highest gravity in South Asia. It is the tastiest too.

Galboda Falls is a very beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka. Located in a quiet rural area it is quite hard to reach this amazing place in a private vehicle, but it is possible to reach there by a motorbike, a tuk-tuk or a vehicle with a good ground clearance.

Galboda waterfall is situated within one hour walking distance from the railway station. It is 30 meters in height, beautiful, virgin & ever young due to the high rainfall received to the catchments area through out the year.( the closest town is Watawala, where received the highest annual rainfall out of the country ). Therefore, not like other waterfalls, travelers are advised to visit Galboda waterfall in August, the dry season. Because the natural water pool is suit & safe for bath in dry seasons.

Fresh waters of Sri Lanka - Doluwa

Sri Lanka is a beautiful place with full of hidden beauties. This breathtaking place is such. If you are looking for a refreshing and a quiet place to spend some time with your loved ones, this is a place to be.

If you want to feel the amazing pure natural spring waters from the mountains and take a bath, think no more.

Here is the exact location of this place.

Located in a small town called Doluwa, about 10km away from both Peradeniya and Gampola cities. A car with a less ground clearance is not a good option to reach here. But a tuk-tuk, motorbike or a pickup truck is preferred. The narrow road is not built well, it's a bit steep and filled with gravel. So be careful on the way. A low ride isn't a good option here. And there is no separate parking available. But you can park your vehicle alongside the road.

You must take a walk along the stream to reach the exact spot. But you won't feel tired because it will be taken away from the beautiful surrounding passing by.

Walking through the jungle and climbing through the cliffs and rocks is a nice experience.

This place is not famous. It's mostly known only by the people live nearby. But some groups of kids and teenagers often visit here to have a refreshing bath and to have some fun with their colleagues.

And you will not find any shops or hotels to grab some food or drinks. So make sure you pack up some snacks in case you feel hungry or thirsty.

The water in this stream is extremely pure and clear. It's not disturbed or polluted by people. The water flows through the jungle from the beginning, therefore it's naturally chilled. And you are not allowed to go back without having a refreshing bath in this awesome waters. You can swim without any hesitation. It's not deep. maximum depth is about 6ft. And everywhere it's not more than 5ft.

And there is no dirt in this place. You can freshen up yourself without any problem. And this place is quite nice to have some food or snacks. The fresh air will make you overwhelmed. Make sure to spend some quality time around this place before you leave. You and your friends or family will definitely enjoy here.

Finally, my advice is to be safe throughout the journey, and PLEASE do not make this place dirty and unpleasant. If you take polyethene, plastic, glass or any non-biodegradable items please do not throw them here. Make sure to thrash them properly.

Have good fun and make sure to leave a comment. I will be writing more about hidden beautiful places on this beautiful island. Contact me if you need further information.

Have fun! Take care!
